A British WW2 entrenching tool by Perks, dated 1944 below War Department arrow, comprising pick head, wooden helve that is stamped GWT 1945 and supplied by H&B (Presumably Howard and Burrough) and has a Bayonet Lug Dated 1945 Broad arrow marked and H&B with a matching No4 Mk1 Bayonet marked H&B and either Cyrillic or Indian writing and a much later issue webbing cover. These are original WW2 issue and dated Entrenching Tool Sets consisting of steel pick axe & hoe head, wooden shaft with steel bayonet lug at grip end, and #4 Spike Bayonet.
This all-purpose entrenching tool was also used as a mine probe once the #4 spike bayonet was attached as well as for hand-to-hand combat. Completely original WW2, gives final touch to any WW2 Tommy collection.
